The Laurie
This was a water feature commissioned for a home owner in Charlotte, North Carolina. The design concept was to create a piece that looked like it grew naturally from the ground, like a mushroom rising up from the soil. This design also featured a multi-stepped inner bowl, so birds could find any depth that suits them. This piece was first carved in plaster from which a mold was made. The final water feature was then poured using an integrally colored and fiber reinforced concrete mix.
